ELA Award 2016 for the ‘Project of the year’ goes to BLG Handelslogistik GmbH & Co. KG & engelbert strauss (DE) with
Stargate junction – logistics at the interface between humans and robots : The implementation of a mobile, scalable and efficient warehousing and order picking solution in a landmarked building within a short time.
After winning the German Award for Supply Chain Management 2015 for the project “Stargate junction – logistics at the interface between humans and robots”, BLG LOGISTICS and its customer engelbert strauss have now also received European recognition. Thomas Krüger, Managing Director of BLG Handelslogistik, and Matthias Fischer, Head of Operative Projects at engelbert strauss, presented this logistics concept in Brussels as one of six finalists and won the European Logistics Prize of the European Logistics Association (ELA).

ELA Award 2016 for the ‘Professional of the year’ goes to Michalis Ziglis (GR).
Michalis has led the continuous evolution of Logistics in his company into a services providing organization with pioneer services for the market, which have turned the Supply Chaiin into a revenue stream for his company and have become major differentiating factor for the customer to buy, against competition. His company’s initiatives also in the corporate responsibility sector, with recycling, energy saving initiatives and parental control services which he led, are exclusive in the Greek market and have been repeatedly awarded locally.

ELA Award 2016 from the audience for ‘Best presentation’ goes to AGFA Graphics (BE).
