The European Logistics Association is a world leading platform connecting academia, research, and industry across the field of logistics and supply chain management. As part of its mission to promote innovation, knowledge exchange, and professional excellence, ELA fosters a strong international research community and supports the development of future academic talent that reflects ELA’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and strengthening the link between research and practice.
ELA provides an international framework where researchers, doctoral candidates, and academic institutions can share insights, collaborate on emerging topics, and contribute to shaping the future of logistics and supply chain management. Through conferences, workshops, and publications, ELA actively promotes the dissemination of high-quality research and encourages dialogue between academia and industry.
Research Publications
ELA supports the publication and visibility of academic work in logistics and supply chain management. Selected research contributions are featured as ELA Academic Papers, providing a platform for disseminating innovative ideas, methodological advances, and applied research. These publications aim to bridge theory and practice and highlight relevant developments within the field.
Academic Conferences and Calls for Papers
ELA Members are involved in a wide range of academic and industry research work and we are proud to host both a Doctoral Workshop in conjunction with the Kühne Foundation and the ELA Research Conference.
This year’s ELA Research Conference will be held in collaboration with the Slovenian Logistics Association (SLA). Researchers, scholars, and industry are cordially invited experts to present their scientific research results at the International Logistics Congress in Portorož, Slovenia from 8th – 10th April 2026
This year’s theme reflects one of the most dynamic shifts in the logistics and supply chain domain: the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on competitiveness, innovation, and resilience.
The 30th annual ELA Doctorate Workshop will take place from 24-27th June 2026 and will be hosted by the TU Dublin, Faculty of Business, School of Business Technology, Retail, and Supply Chain.

Engaging Students - Hackathons and Innovation Activities
Through Hackathons and Student Activities held in conjunctions with the members of our member Associations, ELA promotes hands-on learning and innovation among students. These initiatives encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, creative problem-solving, and the application of academic knowledge to real-world challenges in logistics and supply chain management.
ELA Reviewers Network
A central element of the academic ecosystem is the ELA Reviewers Network. This curated pool of experts, supports the evaluation of academic contributions and ensures high scientific standards across ELA-related activities.
The database allows users to identify reviewers based on their academic focus and expertise, while maintaining strict data protection standards. We welcome well respected academics from around the globe to apply to become a reviewer, whether or not you belong to an ELA Member or accredited institution.
