Achieving ELA Certification

Competence Focus

The module design is based on the ELA Competence Standards, which have been tried and tested for 25 years and there are over 12,000 certificate holders worldwide.

Depending on the module, the focus is on:

– Technical competence (e.g., processes, systems, methods)

– Methodological competence (analysis, planning, and decision-making skills)

– Social and leadership skills

– Practical skills

The workload for all ELA modules and units is measured against the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and meaning it can be integrated into lifelong learning programs. Whilst geared toward professional practice, they are also university-compatible and may be recognised by universities as ECTS credits already earned.

Relevance and Practical Focus

The ELA Certification programme has been designed by industry practitioners and  focuses on practical knowledge and workplace experience. The standards are regularly reviewed and updated by experienced professionals to ensure they remain relevant and cover emerging trends.

Knowledge is always imparted in close connection with professional practice through:

– Case studies from industry

– Practical examples from the participants’ working environment

The right learning format for everyone

Our local accredited training providers, deliver programmes that assist candidates in achieving ELA certification with a variety of approaches: in-person, online or hybrid.

These learning sessions are supported with course materials, exercises, workshops and discussions to ensure candidates have a range of opportunities to broaden their knowledge.

The methods are chosen to promote both theoretical understanding and practical skills. All ELA modules and units are based on EQF (European Qualifications Framework), which enables the comparison and analysis of educational qualifications from different countries and thus ensures that global qualifications equate to national standards.

Accordingly, teaching and learning methods are adapted to the respective level 4,6 or 7 of the EQF to enable structured learning progression.

Structure

The ELA certificate programmes are divided into modules. Each module consists of sub-units which can be selected according to individual areas of focus and some modules are available for study on a stand-alone basis.

Each unit / module, includes:

– defined learning objectives

– clearly described competencies

– a specified workload

– a globally standardised examination system to ensure equivalent knowledge.

The requirements for study for each certificate are listed on relevant section: ECLog, ESLog or EMLog
