The 30th annual ELA Doctorate Workshop will take place from 24-27th June 2026 and will be hosted by the TU Dublin, Faculty of Business, School of Business Technology, Retail, and Supply Chain.

Lecturers in Logistics and Supply Chain are invited to propose one doctoral student from their university, who could contribute to this workshop with an interesting doctoral research project across the fields of logistics in the broadest sense.

The nominated student is requested to prepare a three-page proposal including: the title of the doctoral research project, name, affiliation, contact details, email address, name of the main supervisor, the current stage of the research project (beginning, middle, end) and a brief description of the project (background, research objectives, methodology, expected results, list of references etc. Proposals in Word format should be submitted by February 28th, 2026 to the workshop Chair –Dr Claudia Colicchia

The application should also include a short letter of recommendation from the main PhD supervisor or Head of the Department (this letter may be submitted after the proposal, if necessary).

The ELA Research Committee will evaluate the submitted proposals and invite approximately 20 doctoral students to participate in the workshop. Selected students will be asked to prepare a formal presentation of their project. The Chair and three other experienced logistics professors from across Europe will participate as advisors and moderators during the workshop.

The Kuehne Foundation sponsors the workshop and will cover accommodation and meal expenses for all invited doctoral students. Travel costs must be covered by the participants themselves. The ELA Doctorate Workshop is highly recommended, offering doctoral students from all over Europe an excellent opportunity to meet and build a valuable network. Participants can get 3 ECTS.
