As you may know, Articles 15 and 16 of the Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU (TPD) provide for the establishment of an EU-wide system for traceability and security features for tobacco products. The Commission is required under these articles to adopt secondary legislation (implementing and delegated acts) necessary for the establishment and operation of this system as well as for its interoperability across the Union.
As the Implementation Study will provide the Commission with focused assistance in the preparation of these acts, one of our key objectives is to gather the views and feedback of Distributors/Transport/Warehuing Assosiaciation although so far it was only possible to identify a few, and this is the reason why ELA support it is important in this process.
We are (very active) members of the CEL in Spain, and we would therefore like to request your support in the fulfilment of the attached questionnaire, for it, please feel free to share it internally with the panel that you think is suitable, or please provide us representative panels of your members contacts and we will proceed with the contact in order to gather input or any concerns you may have at this point regarding the design of the future system and its impact.
Please take in consideration that the deadline to gather this info is until the end of next week, please let us know if it is possible to have your support.
Further communications and requests for information are likely to be necessary as the work progresses.
Please be ensured that all information you share with us will be treated as strictly confidential.
Should you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
